I would like to tell you about one of my experiences with a karate birthday party. I had 3 choices for a birthday party. Rock Climbing at Guelph Grotto, skating at the West End Rec Centre and doing karate at the dojo were my choices. I wanted to go rock climbing because karate and skating didn't sound very fun and the other kids probably wouldn't like them. My Mom said it would be a good experience for the kids to try karate so I invited everyone to the dojo. Their first impression was "Is it going to be hard?" I thought they would teach us all about karate, but I was wrong. We mostly played games. One person at the party did karate before so they liked to do it again. Two other kids still do karate and they liked to review some of it. I think the rest of the kids and the instructors liked it too. The instructors were great and that made the party even better. The best part was having fun with my friends and knowing that they had fun. I learned that it's okay to think differently and that things usually come out great! By Adrianna O, age 10
